Every Ashura, IDC volunteers come together with one heartfelt purpose — to serve the mourners of Imam Hussain (AS).
Every year on the occasion of Ashura, Improving and Developing Communities (IDC) comes together to serve the community during the Ashura Juloos, carrying out our responsibilities with the same spirit of dedication and service.
Our journey begins at Colonel Maqbool Imam Bargah, where our volunteers prepare to accompany and support the Juloos throughout its route. From the beginning until the end, IDC provides scouting services, a medical camp, and a Sabeel, ensuring that participants have access to assistance, first aid, and refreshments along the way.
For us, this is more than an annual activity. It is a way of expressing our love and devotion to Imam Hussain (AS) and honoring the values he stood for — compassion, courage, sacrifice, justice, and service to humanity.
Every step taken in the service of others is a step taken in the path of Hussain (AS).
Our volunteers work tirelessly throughout the Juloos, standing alongside the community and ensuring that help is available whenever needed. Whether it is providing water to a participant, attending to someone requiring medical assistance, or helping maintain the safety and organization of the procession, every act of service carries the same intention: to serve in the name of Imam Hussain (AS).
The message of Karbala continues to inspire generations — reminding us that true devotion is reflected not only in remembrance, but also in service, sacrifice, and compassion.
May we continue to uphold these values and serve our community with sincerity, year after year, in the name of Imam Hussain (AS).
